We're Back
We are just finishing up week two. Big team this year with about 33-34 girls. The team from top to bottom is more athletic then I have seen in my tenure. With the loss of our top senior we have some big shoes to fill but I think some of our older runners are up to the challenge. Laura Ritthamel ran over 300 miles this summer, and this past week Amy Ritter and Molly Parato cracked 300. Laura and Grace are our Senior Captains and I am very impressed with their leadership thus far. The first week of practice we discussed being mentally tough and giving 110%. The coaching staff stressed we want athletes that are willing to work hard. As we were quoted "We don't care how fast you run, we just want you to give us your all!" We covered staying healthy.....drinking plenty of water, eating a healthy lunch and after school snack, stretching properly before and after practice, and icing down if something hurts. For the most part everyone seems to be on cruise control. I am planning on setting up a twitter account where you can get updates about practice, meets, etc. Look forward to the upcoming season.
