I have officially decided I really dislike mother nature. As I write this all that it seems to do is rain. The Suburban South Conference meet was held at St. Vincents Park, which was a very beautiful looking park...unfortunately it was cold and super soggy from the storm front that had been present most of the week. With all of the slipperey hills and sharp turns the course was not built for speed but the Parkway West girls still stepped up to the plate. The week before the race we began our week of rest (taper). The girls worked on their running form, keeping their cardio up, while resting their legs. Hopefully they felt good at the end of the week. The varsity girls finished 3rd overall and the JV finished 2nd place. It is a definite step in the right direction for our program. Continued success is where we want to be. I am very proud of how everyone did this whole season. I hope you enjoyed the season and our proud of yourselves for the hard work you put into becoming better runners.

Conference Meet
Big day tomorrow. This is the culmination of weeks and weeks and weeks of training. We are well rested from this week and I have heard the course is relatively flat and all grass. It might be a bit soggy but that should not affect our ability to run. Last year we had tons of girls PR and I am expecting the same outcome for tomorrows races.
Course Map Meet is at St. Vincent Park which is off St. Charles Rock Road. Check the course info sheet for the exact address. I would take 40 East to 170 North to St. Charles Rock Road.
Course Info Sheet
We are headed to the course today for practice to check things out. Parents, family, etc. we look forward to seeing you at the races tomorrow.

West Invitational Results
The West Invitational was at its best on Saturday. With 17 girls teams, 2o boys teams, and over 900 runners it was the biggest event in the history of the meet. After discussing with veteran coach Dale Shepherd and former Girls Coach Jeff Dee it was decided the meet was begun in 1981. It is definitely a proud part of Parkway West's history.
To all of those that helped out THANK YOU. We had many parents course marshalling, selling food and t-shirts, and supporting the team. Thanks!!
If you do get the oppurtunity please take the time to thank Coach Shepherd (Head Boys Coach) for putting together the meet. He spent a lot of time and energy making sure things went smoothly. Another special thanks goes out to Coach Jeff Dee (former Girls Head Coach) for assisting.
I have some new photos that I will update tomorrow!!
I would have to say after arriving in shorts I realized that was a mistake. The sun never came through and it was probably around 60, cloudy and windy for the majority of the meet. It was perfect racing weather.
The team LOOKED SHARP in the new warmups. I must admit you were by far the best dressed team at the meet. Please keep track of all the gear you have recieved as you will need to turn it in at the end of the season.
I was impressed with many of the runs at the meet. We seem to get faster and faster. It was a tougher course then Arnold Park the week before but we still had people PR. We are battling injuries and sickness but we now have a solid two weeks to get ready for Conference.
At the Varsity level great run by Laura Michel (20:06), Molly Parato (21:18). Also good job by Laura Ritthamel, she stayed smooth throughout.
At the JV level Megan "Buggy" Arnell was on FIRE. She PRed by 40 seconds or so. Awesome run.
In the freshmen/sophomore race Kali "California" Taylor moved away from the rest of the pack after the mile marker and never looked back. She PRed also.
